Why GG Energy Consultants was created
My career began working for a large energy company, where I spent years helping large businesses understand their energy needs and preparing quotations for projects ranging from heating systems and energy improvements to wider net-zero measures.
Whilst going about my daily business and wearing an energy company uniform, small shop owners would and ask me;
“Why am I paying so much for my Energy?, Is there anything I can do to reduce my energy costs?”
What started as casual conversations became a real eye-opener.
I began speaking to local business owners about the pressures they were facing — rising energy costs, ageing equipment, expensive heating systems and the uncertainty around investing in energy-saving technology.
One conversation in particular made me realise just how much opportunity was being missed.
I was chatting to a local business owner about the cost of running his business and the energy bills he was facing. I offered some straightforward advice about where savings could potentially be made. As we talked, it became clear that the challenge wasn’t simply knowing what could save energy — it was understanding what help was available to pay for it and how to actually make it happen.
I helped him through the process of identifying suitable measures, looking at available funding and putting the pieces together.
Seeing the difference this could make made me think:
If one small business could benefit so much from the right advice, how many other businesses are missing out simply because they don’t know what’s available to them?
That was the idea behind GG Energy Consultants.
Helping small businesses make better energy decisions
I believe many small businesses don’t have the time, knowledge or resources to investigate all of the options available to them.
There are energy-saving technologies, funding opportunities, finance options and practical improvements that can potentially reduce running costs — but understanding where to start can be difficult.
GG Energy Consultants was created to make that process simpler.
We work with small businesses to understand how they use energy, identify opportunities to reduce costs and explain the options available in plain English.
Most importantly, our aim is to provide free, impartial energy advice and help businesses make informed decisions about what is right for them.
We’re not here to tell every business that it needs to spend money on new technology.
Sometimes the best solution is a simple change.
Sometimes it’s upgrading equipment.
And sometimes there may be funding available that makes a much larger improvement possible.
Our job is to help you understand the difference — and, where appropriate, help you through the process from the initial conversation right through to putting the solution in place.
